 Alternative Learning Center

   The object of the Center is to challenge students to achieve results at a level that reflects their maximum potential within the context of their own learning needs and style. This is accomplished in a number of different ways:

One-on-one interaction

Modifications in testing procedures

Tutoring
to help the student be successful.

Work on organizational skills

Modified Accommodation Plans including regular reviews

Keep parents informed on student progress by phone and email

Assist students is making up work due to extended absences

MBA (Mini Battery of Achievement) Testing, this is used for initial screening
to determine the strengths and areas of concern for the student. 

CAPSOL style of Learning Assessment can also be given to help the s
tudent understand his/her specific style of learning (Ex: Visual, Auditory, Sequential, Global, etc.)


CARE Team meetings (Children At Risk Evaluation) This team is made up of
the student, parents, 
and teachers. We come up with a workable plan
 
    The Alternative Learning Center is here to help students experience success in learning through the creation of good study skills that will remain with them through out life. This is a program that is exciting and rewarding to me as the director. I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to assist our treasured students.
